“The greatest fear in the world is of the opinions of others. And the moment you are unafraid of the crowd you are not longer a sheep. You become a lion. A great roar arises in your heart. The roar of freedom.” – Osho.
It has arrived a moment in my life that I don’t care what people think about me. And it is an extremely powerful feeling. In fact, sometimes I say that I feel like the most powerful Jedi in the galaxy.
How do you feel?
When you know what you want in life and go for it ignoring what other people say, you feel a sensation that you can’t describe.
How you learn to don’t care about what people think about you
It is a long process. First, you need to shut down your negative inner voices. You have to know clearly what you want. Once you know, you have to ignore what other people try to put in your head. One thing is to listen to people.
Another one is to let other people tell you what you should do. Respect others opinion but do your own thing.
“Anti-social behavior is a trait of intelligence in a world full of conformists.” – Nikolas Tesla.
I believe that writing the book ‘Stories of Love and Sex around the World‘ has had an enormous influence. Expose your personal life into the world and let people read it is an act of rebellion and self-affirmation.
Only a few people have the courage to publish an honest book about their personal relationships. And I want to emphasize the word honesty.
Normally, when people talk or write about themselves, they tend to say good things.
Yes or Not?
“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Not anybody can write personal true stories and do it in a reliable way. I have received some criticism for facts that I describe in the book. In occasions, I did things that could hurt someone’s feelings. It wasn’t my intention, but I did it.
What I am not going to do is to write the story pretending I am an angel and the other person was pure evil. We all have hurt someone in our life. Only hypocrites criticize people for that.
“Be yourself. Everybody else is taken.” – Oscar Wilde.
Like anybody, the opinion of other people affected me or even what people could think about me.
Many times I didn’t do what I really wanted to do because I was afraid of someone else opinion. That, obviously, brings you to be miserable.
I didn’t understand why some people insisted so much on forcing you to do certain things. Now it is clear. The majority of the people don’t want you to succeed.
They don’t want you to become something that it is not “normal”.
When you are happy and you do what you like, you cause some people to feel bad because they compare their life with yours.
That is why so many people like to watch dramas and other people with miserable lives. It makes them feel better. They don’t have a shit live after all. Right?
But when they see someone successful they attack him because that makes them feel bad.
I add this video of one of my favorite coaches if you want to take a look. Cheers.
